Emphasis on safe entries and exits and early independence are executed in these classes without taking undue risk. Students will be able to demonstrate the correct use of floatation and other teaching aids. Safe Swimmer is designed to produce competent, confident, technically correct swimmers.
Swimmers are taught entries, exits, floatation, rotation, early movement patterns and the introduction of formal swimming strokes and skills. Swimmers are also weaned off armbands by Level 3 and learn independent movement through water.
Swimmers gain improvement and further development of the four competitive strokes as well as the addition of the two lifesaving strokes. Distance covered is increased as well as the intensity of activity.
