Completed The Pool Lifeguard Award?
This course builds further on the pool lifeguard award by introducing elements relevant to the open water environment. The candidate is taught the essentials of beach/ open water management and control, patrol procedures, signals, rescue protocols use of aids, evacuation techniques and aftercare and management of casualties. The award of merit is a prerequisite award for this program and the candidates are required to demonstrate their ability to swim efficiently in an open water environment before embarking on this course.
